Here's the Deal:You have to build the interface yourself. The plans are available free, and the parts cost about $50. Some previous experience with electronic construction projects is very useful. The software is also free, and now the "advanced" features are also included free... Requirements: Just about any PC made in the last 5 years should work just fine. Laptops are obviously a good choice since they are portable, although if you have a permanent installation in mind, a cheaper, older desktop will do. The computer must also be running some version of Windows XP. You do need at least one USB port; but it doesn't need to be USB 2.0 -- the VSM adapter is a "low" speed device since it is based on a gamepad. A second USB port is also very useful if you intend to use another optional gamepad as a remote controller. An external USB hub can also be used for adding in a "remote". I have run this on a 500 Mhz Pentium 3 laptop that I bought second-hand, no problem. New! A commercial version of VSM is now under development. That means that you will be able to buy the VSM adapter and software in the near future...
